King’s College and King’s College Prep School in Taunton, Somerset are both co-educational day and boarding schools providing continuous education for ages 2-18 with boarding starting in the prep school at Year 3.

King’s is such a warm friendly school with an incredible sense of community and we could not have received a warmer welcome when we visited both schools last week. The College and Prep school are located on two separate sites within the 80-acre campus with their own dedicated staff but with shared facilities. King’s is an all-rounder school with an excellent academic record and fabulous facilities. The full boarding offering is super here and we were hugely impressed by the boarding houses, house staff we met and the home from home feel.

Sport is very strong here with a high level of coaching and pupils can really specialise in most forms of sport. King’s is one of the great cricketing schools in the UK and currently has the status of being a Centre of Cricketing Excellence, a long-standing relationship with Somerset Country Cricket Club as well as being one of the first MCC Foundation Hubs which gives young cricketers access to some first-class coaching.
King’s is a school with a wonderful sense of community that offers a broad spectrum of choice for pupils allowing them to give anything a go and thrive. As two mothers who have lived all over the world with our children in UK boarding schools, this is a school we would happily send our own to children to with its excellent full boarding offering.
