Continuing our tours of schools in the south, we recently visited co-educational day and prep boarding school Westbourne House School which is a for children aged 2 ½ to 13 years old. Situated in 100 acres of parkland near Chichester, West Sussex, Westbourne House is the ideal prep school. It is a happy school, where children are allowed freedom and independence within a vibrant, kind and caring community. The school has outstanding teachers and from Year 5 pupils are taught by specialist teachers, who are trained to secondary school level and are experts in their fields.

Boarding is centred on the idea of ‘family’
Westbourne has about 100 boarders and offers full, weekly and part-time boarding. As the school is small, boarding is very much centred around family-style boarding houses and so is a super introduction for boarding allowing the children to form close bonds with their peers and staff but at the same time learning to be independent.
Award Winning Boarding Prep school
Westbourne House has been awarded the prestigious ‘High Performance World Class Learning Award’ which recognises the very best schools across the globe. At the school’s core is its belief that every pupil can succeed if given the right opportunities, encouragement, self-motivation and practice. This is borne out by pupils moving onto some of the very best schools across the south of England. Last year 23 scholarships from top public schools were awarded to pupils across all disciplines (academic, all-rounder, dance, music, drama, art and sport).
We think that Westbourne House is an exceptional boarding prep school and if you would like to know more about the school, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
